Paul Merson makes his prediction for the London derby between Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace will prove to be a tough game for Tottenham tomorrow (Saturday), according to former Arsenal star Paul Merson.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men make the short trip from north London to south London for the game at Selhurst Park, with Spurs currently sitting fourth in the table.

In contrast, Palace are 14th in the league with eight points from their opening 11 matches, having suffered a fourth defeat in their last five games as they lost 3-1 at Chelsea last weekend.

But Merson reckons they will be a tough test for Pochettino’s side under the lights at Selhurst Park for the evening kick off tomorrow.

Writing in his weekly predictions feature for the Sky Sports website, he said: “Palace weren’t bad against Chelsea last week, their only problem was that they scored a goal!

“As soon as they scored Chelsea livened up and took them to town. There’s a saying which says little clubs shouldn’t wind the big clubs up, and that was the case at Stamford Bridge.

“Spurs are not firing on all cylinders at the moment, something you need to be doing ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park.

“This is going to be a tough game, I cannot separate the sides.”

As such, Merson has predicted a 1-1 draw in SE25.
