You can’t see him because he’s John Cena! Except you can, because he’s probably on the TV in front of you right now.
He’s a WWE superstar and he’s on his way to becoming a big-time actor too.
In the ring his motto was ‘You Can’t See Me’ and he even had his own rap song entrance music (see below) but these days he spends far more time on film sets and his latest movie ‘Bumblebee’ is out later this month.
The sci-fi film is a sort-of prequel to the ‘Transformers’ films which explores the early days of the beloved yellow Autobot Bumblebee in 1980s California.
Who is John Cena?
John Felix Anthony Cena Jr to use his full name was born in Massachusetts on April, 23 1977.
He first joined the WWE in 1999 and quickly rose to fame as a trash-talking rapper which earned him a reputation as a heel. As his fame grew he began to transition into what Cena himself calls “a goody-two shoes Superman”.
Which films has John Cena starred in?
Many of his films have received mixed reviews including the WWE funded ‘The Marine’ in 2006 and ’12 Rounds’ in 2009.
- The Marine – 2006
- 12 Rounds – 2009

When is ‘Bumblebee’ out?
‘Bumblebee’ is released in the UK on Boxing Day this year but selected cinemas are showing previews of the film before then.
The film serves as a prequel ‘Transformers’ starring Shia LaBeouf and follows Autobot Bumblebee after he takes refuge in a small Californian town where a teenager takes him in.
Before long the two find themselves being hunted by a shadowy government agency fronted by Cena’s character.
The Graham Norton Show is on BBC One at 10:35pm on Friday, December 7 and also stars Jackie Chan and Matthew McConaughey.
