Galatasary's Ozan Kabak monitored by Man City ahead of possible £20m transfer

Manchester City scout Sebastian Arnese has confirmed they are monitoring Galatasaray defender Ozan Kabak.

The 18-year-old Turkish centre-back has had an impressive season and is a target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United , according to The Sun .

He has also been linked with Arsenal, Roma and Inter Milan – but Arnese revealed on Turkish radio station Radyospor that Manchester City have also been watching Kabak in recent weeks.

“I am in the Manchester City scouting team. It is certainly not my job to comment but we are following Kabak,” Arnese said.

City representatives attended Galatasaray’s defeat against Besiktas last week in which Kabak again impressed despite the result.

Rumours in Turkey suggest he could potentially have a buyout clause for as little as around £7million, but his club reportedly want to convince him to pen a new deal to increase that value.

Galatasaray would reportedly want around £20m to convince them to part with the teenager, but they would also want to wait until the summer as they chase a second consecutive Super Lig title.

That would be more likely to suit Manchester City than Manchester United, with Mourinho seeking urgent defensive reinforcements in January to solve their struggles so far this season.
