Goalkeeper nightmare in Hamilton vs Hibs clash as both forced into pre-match

When you’re named on the bench as a goalkeeper you don’t normally expect to get on the field.

But in a highly unusual situation at at New Douglas Park, both teams ended up needing their reserve keepers to start the game.

When the teams were announced it was Jan Mucha in goals for Hamilton Accies with Adam Bogan between the sticks for Hibs.

By the time the game kicked off, neither player was starting.

Gary Woods was called in for Accies with Ofir Marciano given the nod by Hibs after Mucha and Bogdan both picked up injuries in the warm-up.

Jacob Marsden started the game on the bench for Martin Canning’s men with Jamie Gullan coming in for Hibs.

And there was further worry for Canning and his team on the bench after 10 minutes when Woods went down after a challenge inside the box and needed treatment. He was able to continue at that point but Woods was forced off the pitch in the second half with Marsden replacing him on 52 minutes.
