Leeds United fan and champion boxer Josh Warrington reckons Huddersfield Town will get a thumping at Arsenal.
Warrington, who defends his world IBF world featherweight title against Carl Frampton in Manchester on December 22, joined Mark Lawrenson on the BBC to make his Premier League predictions for this weekend.
And Warrington, who is chairman of the Leeds United supporters club, weighed in with a 5-0 scoreline in Arsenal’s favour while Lawrenson, in his weekly BBC column, reckons a 3-0 defeat is on the cards for David Wagner’s side.
On the game, Warrington said: “I can see a battering here – with Arsenal toying with the Terriers.
“Huddersfield have kind of called us a rival over the last couple of years whenever they have got promoted, but they are not doing too clever this season – I think their luck has run out. 5-0.”
Lawrenson reckons that while Arsenal were in action 24 hours later than Town this midweek, when they drew 2-2 at Manchester United in midweek, it will make little difference.
“Arsenal had a tough game against Manchester United on Wednesday night but they have got a decent-sized squad so I don’t see that being an issue here,” explained Lawrenson.
“I just can’t see a situation where Huddersfield can go to Emirates Stadium and win.
“This game is not totally inconsequential when it comes to the Terriers’ survival hopes, but it will not be a game they will expect to get any points from and, if they do, it will be an absolute bonus.”
Warrington’s other predictions, including one very tongue-in-cheek one for Old Trafford, are: Bournemouth 0 Liverpool 2, Burnley 2 Brighton 1, Cardiff 1 Southampton 3, Manchester United 0 Fulham 7, West Ham 1 Crystal Palace 0, Chelsea 1 Man City 3, Leicester 1 Tottenham 1.
