Live updates as lorry accident closes M5 in Devon

Traffic was reported to be at a standstill on the M5 southbound in Devon this morning after a crash at 6.25am.

Traffic service Inrix reports a lorry and a car involved in a crash on the road between juntions 28 and 29.

The service reported: “Stationary traffic due to all traffic being temporarily held and accident, a lorry and a car involved on M5 Southbound between J28 A373 Station Road (Cullompton / Service Area) and J29 A3015 Honiton Road (Exeter / Honiton).

“Cameras show all traffic is being held.”

M5 – DEVON – SOUTHBOUND M5 Southbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved between J28 A373 Station Road ( Cullompton / Service Area) and J29 A3015 Honiton Road (Exeter / Honiton ). The road was closed around 06:30 following the accident. Cameras also show trapped traffic behind the accident.
