He’s set to take on the role of heavily-inked singer Stacee Jaxx on the Rock of Ages musical.

And Kevin Clifton ensured he’d channel his stage character as he got a new ‘I love Glasgow‘ tattoo live on Monday’s edition of This Morning.

The Strictly champ, 36, revealed he made a pact with his former dance partner Susan Calman during their stint on the BBC competition in 2017, as they agreed to ink their physiques only if they’d got through to the Blackpool special.

Professional dancer Kevin, who won the latest version of the series with broadcaster Stacey Dooley, unveiled his fresh inking on his foot, which read I ♡ Glasgow’, in tribute to the comedian Susan’s home city.

The Burn the Floor star admitted he felt the pressure as Susan, 44, had gotten her ‘I ♡ Grimsby’ tattoo on her foot in May last year.

Live from a tattoo parlour in West London, the Grimsby native told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: ‘At the start of the tattooing process, I thought it was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced, but now I love it!’

Elsewhere in the episode, Kevin reflected on his triumphant stint on the latest edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

He shared: ‘During the final, I looked over to my mum and dad and shrugged my shoulders as we didn’t think we’d win. But when we found out, my knees gave way and I collapsed to the fall!

‘Dancing has been in our family for years, my nan was the Quickstep champion of Hemel Hampstead! Joanne [sister] and I are going to teach at my parents dance school.’

Kevin went on to lift the lid on his upcoming stint on musical Rock Of Ages, which is based on the 2012 comedy film starring Tom Cruise.

‘I won’t be on the Strictly tour for the first time as I’ve joined the cast of the Rock of Ages musical.

‘I fell in love with it when I saw in it New York. It’s my favourite musical so when the opportunity came up, I had to do it!’

Drawing comparisons between Kevin and his stage character, host Phillip asked: ‘You were a bit of a goth right like Stacee right?’

TV personality Kevin responded: ‘I always thought I was a bit of a wannabe rock star. When I auditioned for Strictly, I looked like an emo!

‘However, I thought that dressing up like this on the streets of Grimsby was a bit silly so I stopped.

‘Stacee is a massive rock star and the frontman of a rock band called Arsenal. The ladies loves him and the guys want to be him. The musical is about him wanting to go solo.

‘This will be the first time I’ll be singing in front of people. I’ve been singing for years now’, he added.

Joining Blue’s Antony Costa, the pair will take to the stage from 22 January until 27 July.
