M11 traffic: Air ambulance lands at scene of serious crash near Harlow

The M11 has been closed after two serious crashes on the southbound carriageway near Harlow.

Emergency services were called to the crash between junctions 7 at Harlow and junction 6 at the M25 after 7pm.

And then later in the evening around 10.15pm another serious accident happened further north on the soundbound carriageway.

Essex Police said: “We’re currently on scene of a serious collision on the London-bound M11 near Harlow.

“It happened shortly after 7pm and both carriageways are currently closed. We advise you avoid the area if you can and plan your journey. We’ll bring you more information when we can.”

Normal traffic conditions are not expected until 10.45pm at the earliest.

Highways England said: “Traffic caught within the closure on the M11 southbound between J7 and J6 is now being turned and released via the entry slip road. Thanks for your patience this evening.”
