The Voice UK contestant makes it to the semi-finals following recent family tragedy

The Voice UK singer Jimmy Balito performed a tear-jerking cover of Radiohead classic ‘High and Dry’ tonight (March 16) – just days after the death of his father.

During the VT of Jimmy’s rehearsals for the Knockout round, the contestant revealed that his father became seriously ill after last week’s show and sadly passed away within a few days.

Visibly devastated by the loss, Jimmy admitted that he had doubts about “whether it’s the right time” for him to compete on the show. However, he soldiered on and was rewarded by his coach Olly Murs‘ faith in him.
